With Collingwood players Lachlan Keeffe and Josh Thomas delisted after accepting two-year bans, collingwoodfc.com.au have reported that the Queensland pair are unlikely to head back North:

Brisbane's list manager Peter Schwab says the Club is unlikely to recruit Queensland Magpies Lachlan Keeffe and Josh Thomas in the November Rookie Draft.

The pair formally accepted two-year bans last month after testing positive to banned substance clenbuterol.

They have since been delisted and have been fined about $50,000 each, with part of their 2015 player payments to be withheld, as required by the AFL and the World Anti-Doping Authority.

Keeffe and Thomas, who have been provisionally suspended since their positive A-sample result in March, will not be eligible to return to AFL until the 2017 season.

Schwab told the Herald Sun's Jon Ralph the Lions are unlikely to pursue either player in the November drafts.

“It seems unlikely," Schwab said.

"They have to wait another 12 months and we would really be wanting to fill those spots anyway.

"Unless something dramatically changes we won’t be going there."

Keeffe has played 40 senior games since arriving at the club from Gympie, south of Brisbane, at the end of 2007, while Redland product Thomas has played 32 games since he was drafted at the end of 2009.
