Each year as part of Multicultural Queensland month, the Brisbane Lions host a citizenship ceremony. In 2019 the ceremony was held at Jurgens street park across from the Gabba, where we hosted 45 new Australian citizens from 24 different countries.
The conferees were welcomed to our community with a range of committed partners including the Queensland Government, Multicultural Australia, AFL Queensland and the Queensland Human Right Commission. The event also included a range of multicultural performances and food trucks, a welcome pack including goodies from all our partners and of course a great match against the Western Bulldogs.
