I am pleased to inform Members that a compromise has been reached that gives the Brisbane Lions a unified Board once again.

On Tuesday night, I proposed a compromise agreement to AFL CEO, Andrew Demetriou. This was tabled at the Board meeting earlier today and all directors voted in favour of it.

Under the agreement, Paul Williams, Linda Nash and I will leave the Board. Bob Sharpless will replace me as Chairman and Leigh Matthews will join the Board.

The agreement also confirms funding arrangements for the Club from the AFL.

Members will also still have an opportunity to vote on the change to the rights of Life Members in the Constitution and the Lions’ Guernsey at this year’s AGM.

The foundations for the Club’s success are in place. The Lions can now put all our efforts into preparing for the 2014 season.

I am privileged to have had the opportunity to serve on the Board of the Brisbane Lions. I would like to thank the executive, staff, players and sponsors for their dedication to the Lions’ success on the field and as a business. I would also like to thank you, the Members for your continued loyal support for the Lions.
