The Brisbane Lions have named their team for this Sunday’s match against GWS Giants, with the final interchange/emergencies announced this afternoon.
Vice Captain Jed Adcock will return for the Lions this week after missing last week with a minor groin complaint.
He will be joined by returning utility Ryan Lester, who also sat out last week’s game against Collingwood with general soreness.
Irishman Pearce Hanley, who was subbed off with a hamstring injury at half time against Collingwood, appears to have passed his fitness test and has been named on the wing in the starting 18.
Josh Green and Rohan Bewick have been recalled from the Reserves and have been named on the interchange bench alongside Jared Polec and Dayne Zorko.
Billy Longer will again spearhead the Lions’ ruck division, while tagger Andrew Raines looks set for the job against GWS midfielders Tom Scully or Callan Ward.
Todd Banfield is out for the Lions this week after scans yesterday revealed that he had sustained a stress fracture in his right leg, while Ryan Harwood, Niall McKeever and James Hawksley have all been omitted.
