Lions Captain Jonathan Brown looks ready to tackle his 11th AFL season after making a solid contribution in each of his two pre-season practice matches.

The reigning three-time Club Champion has completed a near faultless pre-season campaign and will be firmly on the radar of Dream Team coaches around Australia who are frantically finalising their squads before next week’s lockout.

Brown backed up his three goal effort against Carlton at Visy Park two weeks ago with a dominant performance against Hawthorn last Friday at Southport.

The burly centre half-forward collected 17 disposals and grabbed 11 marks to finish with a team-high 97* Dream Team points. His score was most impressive considering he only booted one goal for the match.

Brown’s score of 97* Dream Team points gave him a total average of 84 points across two matches - the second highest overall and the most of any Lions player to have played multiple pre-season games.

His average was bettered only by Lions defender Josh Drummond who accumulated 89* points against Hawthorn last Friday after collecting 21 disposals and taking 10 marks in his first outing for 2010.

Drummond’s 21 disposals were the equal second most of any Lions player in the match - behind only Richmond recruit Andrew Raines who gathered a team-high 24 touches.

Travis Johnstone was the team’s second highest Dream Team scorer in last Friday’s game against the Hawks. Johnstone collected 21 disposals, took nine marks and kicked a goal to finish with 96* points.

His score also placed him second overall at the Club in total Dream Team points accumulated over the pre-season period. Johnstone finished with 216 Dream Team points to finish just one point ahead of third placed Michael Rischitelli (215).

The player with the overall highest aggregate score was second year midfielder/forward Tom Rockliff who earned 230 points across three matches for an impressive average of just under 77 points per game.

The highest Lions Dream Team point averages throughout the pre-season are as follows:

1. Josh Drummond - 89 points* (1 game)

3. Albert Proud - 81 points (1 game)
4. Luke Power - 78 points* (1 game)
5. Mitch Clark - 77.5 points (2 games)
