Following on from the recent re-signing of Oscar McInerney and Hugh McCluggage and the elevation of another ‘Macca’, Lincoln McCarthy, to our leadership group, the Lions are delighted to announce McDonald’s Brisbane as an Official Partner.

And the fans are the big winners.

If the Lions score more than 70 points at any home game, fans with match day tickets and Queensland members will get a free Big Mac the following day.

With Dan McStay and Connor McFadyen progressing well on the comeback trail from injuries, we’ll soon have a full menu of Maccas on hand to secure the points.

Mondayitis is also taken care of with the McCafe Monday’s entitling Brisbane Lions Members in SEQ to a free small coffee after each away game as well as 20 per cent off all orders under $20 throughout the season.

The announcement of the new partnership continues a long personal connection with McDonalds for skipper Dayne Zorko.

“It’s great to have Macca’s on board, they have always been terrific supporters of junior sport and I was always trying my hardest to get a Macca’s award,’’ he said.

“My first job was at Macca’s and my sisters both worked there so they have been a big part of our family.

“They have had a long association with the AFL and proud history of Community Engagement through initiatives such as Ronald McDonald House and the literacy programs that have seen 28 million books distributed through Happy Meals.

“We love the ‘Macca’s’ that play at our Club and we are delighted to have joined forces with another through this new partnership with McDonalds.’’

The new two-year partnership was driven by Alana Inwood, McDonalds Marketing Manager for QLD/NT and local licensees.

“We’re ‘lovin’ that we’re welcoming back the Brisbane Lions to our McFamily partnership portfolio,’’ she said.

“ We’re proud to align our brand to partnerships that allow us to have a positive and active impact on the local community.

We’re looking forward to Brisbane Lions fans enjoying their post-match ‘Macca’s Run’ with their Macca’s freebies and all time favourites.

“Here’s to a great 2021 season, you’ll be hearing us ‘roar’ all season long!”

The first McDonalds restaurant in Brisbane opened at Aspley in 1975 and there are now 112 Maccas across the greater Brisbane region.
