Chris Fagan’s first draftee when he took over as senior coach, Hugh McCluggage has transformed his game culminating in his ascension to co-captaincy in 2026. Beginning his career on the wing, McCluggage has since created a formidable partnership with two-time Brownlow medallist Lachie Neale and star Josh Dunkley. Finally donning an All-Australian blazer in 2026, McCluggage had previously been named in four All-Australian squads between 2019-2022. The South Warrnambool junior finished second in the Merritt-Murray Medal at the Lions Club Champion in 2025, a two-time premiership player, All-Australian and now co-captain, McCluggage’s resume continues to get better and better.
