McDowell-White Junior gets his chance at AFL level after signing with the Lions as a Category B Rookie. The former basketballer becomes the Club’s third father-son of the 2022 off-season, with the 25-year-old set to follow in the footsteps of his father - Lions triple premiership player Darryl White. McDowell-White Junior, known as DJ by his teammates, is described as a very athletic player with plenty of natural talent, which is little surprise there are plenty of similarities between him and his father. Having spent a large part of 2022 training with the Club and playing in the Lions VFL side, McDowell-White Jnr has given a taste of what he is capable of as an exciting forward.
