"You don’t draft a player, you draft a family” - these are the words of Welfare Manager Craig Lambert, and over the weekend these words were put into action at the Lethal Lions Family Induction.

The Lethal Lions Family Induction was a weekend designed by the Lambert’s to bring the families together, and connect those who are new to the Club.

“We’ve got last year’s family combined with this years draftees’ families and we’re here to have a fantastic weekend, so everyone can connect, so we can make sure this is the best family Club in the AFL,” said Lambert.

"For us it’s about connecting people, and truly showing the whole football world, and our players and their families that we can all say the words ‘we want to be a family club’ but we have to live it.

"So hopefully over the weekend, all of our families know that we are the real deal.”

It’s a new tradition, and is part of the Lambert’s holistic approach with welfare.

“This weekend we have the chance to showcase our city, to showcase our people, our coaches.

“This is a Club we want to be inclusive and while the Lamberts are here that will happen.”

So who are the Lethal Lions?

Originating in 2002, the Lethal Lions are a dedicated group of highly successful people who support our Club.

"The Lethal Lions are the most extraordinary group I’ve ever seen.”

"Everytime our Club has been struggling a little bit, it’s always been the Lethal Lions that have been the ones to show support.

"We came back five or six weeks ago, and the first people to give me a call were the Lethal Lions who said they wanted to catch up. And it was amazing that all they wanted to do were show their support.

"They want to help this Club that they love, and the Lambert’s love as well.

"The Lethal Lions are a group that are behind the scenes. They’ve all been amazingly successful people, but the one thing they want is success for our Football Club."
