THE LIONS have announced Damien Austin will replace the departing Brett Burton as the new High Performance Manager.

Austin comes to the Lions from the Sydney Swans, having worked as a part of that club's high performance team for four seasons.

CEO Greg Swann said he is confident that Austin will provide the expertise and experience of off-field leadership necessary to propel the Club forward next season and beyond.

"Damien has an impressive work history, having come to us from the Swans but prior to this working for the Sydney Roosters, Queensland Reds and consulting with the NSW Swifts Netball team", Swann said.

"We are satisfied that along with Matthew Francis (Football Manager), Craig Lambert (Strategy and Retention Manager) and Melissa Lambert (Player Welfare Manager) we have the right team to take the Club forward."
