Hundreds of attendees to last Saturday’s game versus the Kangaroos found their way there thanks to their local coffee shop and Aussie start-up Rewardle.

The Lions teamed up with Rewardle as part of the ‘Lions Takeover Brisbane’ activities last week, which included a Donut Giveaway, a Beep Test, lighting up the Story Bridge and a Members’ Open Training Session.

Rewardle is a customer retention and membership platform that allows business owners to communicate digitally with their audience. Through the platform’s partnership with the Lions, customers were able to use the loyalty points they’d built up to redeem a free coffee and instead redeem a 2 for 1 ticket to the Lions first home game.

“This was a great way for the Lions to help local business and local business to help the Lions,” said Lions CEO Greg Swann.

“We were really pleased with the partnership and so were our merchants.  It gave them the opportunity to offer a reward to their customers that is usually only possible for big enterprise,” added Tim Hill, Rewardle Co-founder Head of Rewardle Operations QLD.

“The Lions got some great exposure and uptake across our platform, whilst small business owners were saved from having to absorb their loyalty reward costs - and were given a great incentive to drive people into their stores.”

The Lions are considering activating the partnership again in the future.
