Fans will have an opportunity to help celebrate two significant milestones from a couple of the Club’s favourite sons when the Lions host Geelong at the Gabba this Sunday evening.

Simon Black is set to make his first appearance back home at the Gabba since becoming Brisbane’s games record-holder, while veteran ‘swingman’ Ash McGrath will line-up for his 200th AFL match.

To honour Black’s amazing feat, the Lions are encouraging fans to come to the game dressed in black.

A selection of the best dressed fans will be invited to sit in an exclusive ‘Simon Black Bay’ at the game where they will receive a special limited edition Simon Black t-shirt.

So temporarily shelve your maroon, blue and gold apparel this Sunday and help salute one of the Club’s all-time greats by wearing black in his 320th match.

The Lions team will also perform their pre-game warm-up in the limited edition Simon Black celebration guernsey, which is still available for purchase at the Lions Shop until sold out.

McGrath, meanwhile, will become just the 10th player in the Lions’ merged history to reach the ‘double ton’ and will be hoping to make it a memorable milestone by overcoming the second-placed Cats.

Thanks to our match-day sponsor, The Sunday Mail, fans will also be invited to stay back after the game to meet the Lions players at a special post-match signing session held in the Lion Park (located outside Gate 2).

In the event of bad weather, the signing session will be moved to the Queensland Room located upstairs at Gate 3.
