Summary

Bill Walker was one of the most aggressive players during the VFL’s formative years and helped give Fitzroy the reputation of being the toughest team of the era. Throughout his 169-game career, he was widely respected and admired at Fitzroy, but loathed by opponents and opposition supporters.

He won the Club’s Best and Fairest award in 1909 and was an important member of the 1904, 1905 and 1913 premiership winning sides – as well as the losing Grand Final sides of 1903 and 1906. He also captained the Club to the 1913 premiership in what was his penultimate year.
