The Brisbane Lions AFLW side will be without key defender Shannon Campbell when they head to Melbourne this weekend.

The foundation Lion will sit out the mandatory 12 days under AFL concussion protocols after taking a heavy hit in the third quarter of Saturday’s clash against Collingwood.

The collision came midway through the third quarter as Campbell and Collingwood midfielder Jaimee Lambert sprinted for a loose ball on the wing.

Meanwhile fellow backline veteran Kate Lutkins has begun her long road to recovery from a season-ending ACL injury.

The 33-year-old is recovering well after recently undergoing surgery to repair the ruptured ligament.

Gabby Collingwood is also looking ahead to rehabilitation after rupturing her ACL and MCL in Round 4.

Lions Academy product Maggie Harmer will remain sidelined for at least another fortnight as she recovers from a foot complaint.
