The Brisbane Lions VFL side have recorded their second win of the season, taking down Port Melbourne by 39-points in tough and windy conditions at the Moreton Bay Sports Complex.

Blake Coleman and Jimmy Tunstill starred for the side with three goals apiece as the Lions worked to steadily dismantle the Victorians.

Rhys Mathieson continued his push for senior selection, gathering 36 disposals, 10 marks and one goal.

While Carter Michael and Ryan Lester worked well in the Lions defensive unit to stifle the opposition in the contest.

Deven Robertson, Harry Sharp and Tom Berry were also among the Lions’ top performers in Sunday's clash.

VFL Head Coach Mitch Hahn said that he was pleased with the strong team effort against the visitors.

“I thought we played a really strong game despite the challenging conditions,”

“The wind did affect our goalkicking and unfortunately we didn’t make the most of some opportunities that were presented to us.

“However, we made full use of the bigger ground at Burpengary and were really able to punish our opposition with our ability to use the whole ground.

“On the whole, to go out and win all four quarters, play good football and get some confidence up was really pleasing for us.”
