Dee Heslop will make her Brisbane Lions debut on Sunday when she runs out against the GWS Giants at Manuka Oval.

The versatile midfielder joined the Lions through the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft after being delisted by the Gold Coast Suns at the conclusion of the 2022 season.

With 24 AFLW games already under her belt, Heslop will bring experience and versatility to Sunday’s side against a hungry GWS.

Heslop’s opportunity comes as young defender Lily Postlethwaite is heartbreakingly sidelined for the remainder of the season with an ACL injury.

Forward line duo Taylor Smith and Courtney Hodder will have plenty to be up and about for on Sunday, with the pair set to notch up 25 games.

Smith and Hodder both arrived at the Lions ahead of the history-making 2021 AFLW Premiership season.

Hodder will play her 25th AFLW and Club game this Sunday, while Smith is set to play her 25th AFLW game this weekend and her 25th Club game next weekend.

The Brisbane Lions will face the GWS Giants at Manuka Oval (ACT) on Sunday September 4 at 3:10PM.
