The Future Stars is an Academy program designed to identify talented young footballers from age 12-13 who do not yet play AFL at a Club level.
After clinics, trainings and trial days, the program culminates in a Carnival Night where players are selected to join the Hyundai Lions Academy.
This year’s Carnival Night was a great success, with over 200 people turning out to Giffin Park at Coorparoo to watch the Future Stars in action.
Brisbane Lions stars Brent Staker and Matthew Leuenberger were there to cheer on the boys and offer a few words of advice for the youngsters who want to make a career out of AFL.
Out of the 90 boys involved on the night, 20 were selected for inclusion in the 2011 Hyundai Lions Academy.
