The Brisbane Lions have locked in their AFL guernsey numbers for 2023.

A total of 9 guernsey changes have been made, headlined by star recruits Josh Dunkley and Jack Gunston.

Gunston will continue his career in the number he made famous at Hawthorn, locking in the #19 guernsey for 2023.

Henry Smith has selflessly given up his now former guernsey number for the ex-Hawk, instead opting for #25, made vacant following Dan McStay's departure to Collingwood.

Dunkley will don the #5, the same number he wore at the Western Bulldogs, while Irish recruit, Conor McKenna has chosen #26.

While his fathers famous #10 guernsey is occupied by veteran, Daniel Rich, Will Ashcroft has opted for the #8 guernsey, while fellow son of a gun, Jaspa Fletcher has selected #28.

Rookie selection Darryl McDowell-White has requested the same number he wore in his VFL performances with the Brisbane Lions and will wear #50.

Queensland zone selection, Shadeau Brain will don the #34, formerly Blake Coleman's, who has moved into #13, made vacant by the departure of Tom Berry.
