As the Brisbane Lions’ high altitude training camp approaches its second week, 2011 Club Champion Tom Rockliff felt it was an appropriate time to offer up his early nominations for Arizona MVP.

During an interview with LIONS TV which aired on Channel 7 news in Brisbane on Wednesday night, Rockliff listed three of his teammates as the early pre-season bolters.

“There have been a couple of the boys who have really stepped up over here,” Rockliff said.

“Joel Patfull, Jack Redden and Brent Moloney have been the best so far - they’ve handled the conditions really well and powered in the running session, which was quite taxing.”

“They have probably been the three standout performers, but to be honest, most of the boys have handled it really well.”

Another member of the touring group who has impressed Rockliff is Melbourne Storm player Cooper Cronk.

“Cooper Cronk has settled in really well with the group,” Rockliff said.

“He’s obviously an ultimate professional and has come off a really big season last year (with the Storm). He’s handling it quite well.”

“The boys are now trying to get him to sign up with the Lions.”

Rockliff, who was part of last year’s smaller Arizona travelling party, said the experience doesn’t get any easier the second time around.

“It’s been quite challenging,” he said.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing the benefits in a couple of weeks - it’s extraordinary really (how it can improve your fitness).”

“I can’t wait to have a crack in the second week.”
