Dayne Beams was a standout for the Lions on Saturday night, collecting 38 touches, nine clearances and a goal to come away with the Marcus Ashcroft Medal for the third time in two years.

Lewis Taylor kicked two goals for the Lions, one of which was the crucial final goal for his side which helped edge the team's lead.

Allen Christensen was efficient with his ball use, collecting 22 disposals at 91% efficiency. Christensen also converted a vital goal that put the Lions back in front by two points during the final quarter.

In his third AFL game and first QClash, Brandon Starcevich continued to show goods signs of what's to come, kicking his career-first goal.

Harris Andrews also starred. Andrews controlled the backline for most of the match and when moved forward in the third quarter he kicked a crucial goal after the siren. 

Luke Hodge showed composure in critical moments of the game. He came away 21 disposals, eight rebound 50s and eight marks.
