The AFL is pleased to announce the dates and times for Rounds 16 to 23 of the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

The next block of the fixture comes off the back of an epic opening nine rounds, which saw a record-breaking 3,047,247 fans attend AFL matches across the country.

Today’s fixture announcement continues the momentum, with a priority of scheduling the best matches in the best time slots where possible.

The updated fixture sees the Brisbane Lions take on Richmond at home at prime time, with West Coast, Geelong, and Adelaide travelling to the Gabba for Saturday afternoon slots.

Victorian members and fans will be able to see us take on Melbourne at the MCG in Round 18, and versus Collingwood at Marvel in Round 23.

Across Round 20-22, all major derbies – including the Q-Clash, The Showdown, Sydney Derby XXVI, and the Western Derby – have been fixtured in prime-time Saturday twilight and night slots.

AFL Executive General Manager Finance, Clubs and Broadcasting Travis Auld said the strong start to the 2023 Toyota AFL Season has set the competition up for an exciting second half of the home and away season.

“After record-breaking crowds and viewership numbers in the first nine rounds, we’re set to launch into the back-half of the season and into the 2023 Toyota AFL Finals Series,” Auld said.

“The season is wide open, with at least a dozen teams vying for a spot in September.”

Ticketing on-sale dates and information will be communicated in due course.

The fixture for Round 24 will be announced around one-month ahead of the games to maximise excitement and the best time slots for the final round of the season.
