The Brisbane Lions are buoyed by a key trio being available for selection ahead of Thursday night’s AAMI Community Series match against the Sydney Swans.

Co-Captain Lachie Neale along with fellow midfield duo Jarrod Berry and Deven Robertson are expected to fly to Sydney for the clash.

Neale sat out of both intra-club games and last week’s match simulation against the Gold Coast SUNS as he recovered from post-season groin surgery.

The Lions made that decision with the view the reigning Brownlow Medallist would benefit more from training than playing.

More positive signs see Berry (shoulder) and Robertson (wrist) available to line up in the AAMI Community Series match a week out from Opening Round.

All three players have ‘trained well and done everything asked of them’ according to the Club’s high performance team.

There was also an extra buzz of excitement at the Brighton Homes Arena this week with off-season recruit Tom Doedee officially returning to training.

The defender has continued to show strong progress in his return from an ACL injury last year and is aiming to play within the first month of the season.
