The three Brisbane Lions mid-season rookies will play their first game in Lions colours at VFL level on Friday afternoon against Footscray. 

Will McLachlan, Luke Beecken and Darcy Craven have all been named in VFL coach, Ben Hudson’s side to take on the top of the table Bulldogs. 

McLachlan and Craven have both been named in the forward line while Beecken will line-up in defence. 

Harry Sharp returns to VFL level after being the substitute in the Lions AFL game against Hawthorn along with forward Brandon Ryan. 

Following a bye in Round 10, the Lions will travel to Melbourne for a third consecutive fixture this time taking on Footscray who are a perfect nine from nine so far this season, at Mission Whitten Oval. 

VFL-listed quintet Ewan Macpherson, Zach Derksen, Daniel Lloyd, Jake Lohman and Joel Budarick make way for the inclusions.
