Youi Brisbane Lions Academy member Jackson Bridge has been selected in the 2025 U16 Boys All-Australian side following a strong showing at the 2025 Marsh AFL National Development Championships.
A composed defender, it was Bridge’s ability to intercept mark and use the ball effectively on the rebound for the was prominent throughout all three games for the Brisbane Lions Academy.
The 16-year-old averaged 18 disposals at 75% efficiency and 8.7 marks, across the three games helping the Youi Lions Academy remain undefeated in Pool B.
Bridge became the second successive player from the Youi Lions Academy to win the Alan McLean Medal, following Matthew Owen in 2024, securing 14 votes.
The Youi Lions Academy side took on the Gold Coast SUNS Academy in their first game running away 77-point winners as Maxwell Boothey kicked three majors.
A 50-point victory over the Sydney Swans Academy in the second game gave the Youi Lions Academy the chance to claim the Pool B title going into their third game, thanks to four majors from Rohan Bickerton.
Despite a 46-point win over Northern Territory in their final match, Tasmania were crowned Pool B winners on percentage.
