An impressive five Brisbane Lions players have been named in this year All-Australian squad of 44 players recognised for outstanding individual seasons in 2025.
Co-Captain Harris Andrews, defender Dayne Zorko and midfield trio Josh Dunkley, Hugh McCluggage and Zac Bailey are the five all in contention to claim a blazer on Thursday night.
This group all arrive at this achievement on different football journeys, with some being multiple All-Australian representatives while others have been recognised for the first time.
Brisbane Lions General Manager Football, Danny Daly congratulated the group on their inclusion in the squad.
“As a Club we are extremely proud of Harris, Dayne, Josh, Hugh and Zac for being named in the All-Australian squad which is a deserving acknowledgment of what they have delivered,” Daly said.
“These five players don’t chase the individual accolades; they simply work incredibly hard to help our team be the best it can be and this selection is simply a reward for that approach.
“They will all have the view that what they really want this season is to again taste the ultimate success as a club, though I hope they all allow themselves to be proud of their squad selection.”
The 2025 All Australian selection panel is Andrew Dillon (Chair), Eddie Betts, Jude Bolton, Nathan Buckley, Kane Cornes, Abbey Holmes, Glen Jakovich, Laura Kane and Matthew Pavlich.
The final team of 22, as per the criteria established in 2007, will be selected as if to play a match.
The team will be named on Thursday, 28 August, as part of the AFL Awards.
