Brisbane Lions AFLW defender Shanae Davison has signed a two-year contract extension keeping her at the Club until the end of 2027.
After joining the Lions during the 2023 AFLW Sign and Trade Period from West Coast, the 24-year-old been a steady contributor, particularly this year.
The classy defender said she was thrilled to be continuing at the Club after playing nine of a possible 10 games so far this season.
“I’m really excited to see what this group can achieve over the next couple of seasons,” Davison said.
“Since I arrived at the Club the group and the coaching staff have been incredible and made Brisbane a home for me which is why it was so easy to sign on the dotted line.
“We’ve put together some strong weeks of footy now and we are wanting to keep building toward the pointy end of the season.”
Lions Head of Women’s Football, Breeanna Brock said Davison had become a key member of a strongly performing defensive group.
“Shanae is someone we identified who could play a key role for us when we brought her across from West Coast,” she said.
“After coping with some unfortunate injury last season, she worked really hard to be able to put together a strong pre-season and her performance on field has been indicative of that.
“She’s an exceptionally smart player, a very popular member of our group and she adds great value to the Club.”
