Brisbane Lions premiership defender Noah Answerth will remain at the Club until at least the end of the 2028 season.
Answerth, who was already contracted for 2026, has signed a two-year extension to lock in his future as a Lion.
The 26-year-old has played 88 games since being selected with Pick 55 in the 2018 national draft from the Oakleigh Chargers.
Answerth was in some of the best form of his career in 2025 before he ruptured his Achilles in Round 18, putting an early end to his season.
Though the lockdown defender is recovering well and said he was excited about the future.
“Re-signing was a pretty simple decision for me because I’ve loved being at the Lions for the last seven years,” Answerth said.
“I have been lucky to have success during my time here and I am really excited to hopefully be a part of continuing that success into the future.
“Brisbane has very much become a home for me, and I am grateful for the Lions to show faith in me after everything I’ve been through.
“I can’t wait to get back and be playing footy again for such a great club.”
Brisbane Lions General Manager Football Danny Daly said the Club was thrilled to have Answerth remain at Brighton Homes Arena until 2028.
“Noah extending his contract is fantastic for him and the Club,” Daly said
“We love and respect Noah for what he brings on the field and equally for the type of person he is off the field.
“When he plays, he is a super fierce competitor that gives his all, and around the Club he is one of the most loved and respected teammates.
“So, we couldn’t be happier to have Noah, his partner Macy and their families remaining at the Brisbane Lions.”
Answerth is the latest premiership Lion to extend his contract this year joining young guns Darcy Wilmot, Jaspa Fletcher, Will Ashcroft and Levi Ashcroft in doing so.
