The 2018 AFL Draft is just a day away!

When is it?

The draft is over two days for the first time this year.

Held at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, the first round of the draft is on tomorrow, Thursday, November 22, while the remainder of the draft, as well as the rookie draft,  is on Friday, November 23.

The first round will begin at 7pm AEDT (6pm AEST) on Thursday night, while Friday's action is due to start around midday (11am AEST).

How do I watch it?

Fox Footy and the AFL App will broadcast both days of the draft live.

What picks do the Lions have?

The Lions hold picks 18, 30, 35, 56 and 78. With five available list spots, the Lions will be able to use all their picks.

Who will present Pick No. 18 with their guernsey?

Club legend Johnathan Brown will be at the draft to present our first pick with their Lions guernsey.

What Academy players are eligible?

Connor McFayden, Thomas Matthews, Darcy Marsh and Keidean Coleman are all members of the Hyundai Help for Kids Lions Academy and have nominated for the draft.

A big bodied midfielder/forward, McFayden played five games for the Lions' NEAFL team this year and kicked six goals.

Coleman played eight games as a running defender and averaged 15.5 disposals and four tackles a game.

Matthews and Marsh both played in the elimination final loss to Aspley.

Live trading...what?!

For the first time this year, clubs have the ability to trade ‘live picks’, meaning they can move up and down the draft order as they please. No players can be exchanged, however.

Who are we going to pick?

Stay tuned to find out...

General Manager of Football David Noble has been open in his desires to add more quality midfielders to the team.

"We still feel midfield for us is the focus," Noble said.

"The other one would be running halfback or running wingman. They could be two areas we look at.

"You can't have too many good players on your list."

AFL Media's draft expert Cal Twomey has had his say on who he thinks we will take in the draft.
