The Brisbane Lions have selected Keidean Coleman from the Hyundai Help for Kids Lions Academy with Pick No.37 at the 2019 NAB AFL Draft.

Coleman is a familiar face at the Lions, having been an important member of the 2019 undefeated, premiership winning NEAFL team and a member of the Under 19 Lions Academy.

After missing out on being drafted to the Lions in 2018, Coleman worked hard with the Lions coaching staff to improve his game. He trained with the senior playing group for the majority of the 2019 season and played in 18 games for the NEAFL, where he was found in the midfield or rebounding half back.

He became the first Academy player in NEAFL’s history to be named in their Team of the Year.

The Lions Recruiting Manager Steve Conole said the Club was proud to reward Coleman’s dedication.

After being overlooked in last year’s draft it is a credit to Keidean how hard he has worked, and for all his consistent performance with our NEAFL team this year,” Conole said.

“We look forward to seeing what he can deliver now he is in our system full time.”
