The Brisbane Lions congratulate Director Cathie Reid AM, on her induction into the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame.
The honour recognises her outstanding contribution to Queensland business, healthcare, innovation and philanthropy.
Reid, who has served on the Brisbane Lions Board since 2016 and has been a great contributor to the Lions and a mentor to many at the Club, was recognised at the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame Induction Dinner held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The annual event celebrates leaders whose enterprise, vision and service have helped shape Queensland’s economic and social development.
Reid is a pharmacist, entrepreneur, investor and board leader best known for co-founding Epic Pharmacy and Icon Group, which grew to become Australia’s largest dedicated cancer care provider.
Her work has combined healthcare, technology and innovation, with a focus on building organisations that improve health outcomes and support communities.
Cathie who was inducted together with her husband Stuart Giles, are a formidable combination and have been highly valued supporters of the Brisbane Lions over a long period of time.
Today, Reid-Giles’ work includes Arc31, the family office they co-founded, and the SpArcFoundation, which supports philanthropic initiatives across health, education, community empowerment and social justice.
Reid has received numerous honours throughout her career, including being named a Member of the Order of Australia in 2019 for significant service to healthcare delivery and philanthropy, induction into the Australian Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame, and recognition as one of the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Women of Influence.
Established in 2009 by QUT and State Library of Queensland, the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame recognises the public contribution of leaders whose vision and enterprise have shaped Queensland’s economic and social development.
