The Brisbane Lions and Port Adelaide have agreed to a pick swap ahead of next week’s NAB AFL Draft. The Lions will receive Pick No. 29 and Pick No. 71 and a future first round pick, in return for Pick No. 16, Pick No. 52, Pick No. 55 and Pick No. 72.

Following this trade, the Lions selections for the 2019 NAB AFL Draft are Pick No. 21, Pick No. 29, Pick No. 34, Pick No. 48 and Pick No. 71.

General Manager of Football David Noble said this trade is a strategic move to add an additional pick in the second round this year and deliver an extra first round in 2020.

“Before this trade we had more picks at the upcoming draft than available spots on our list,” Noble said.

“This trade maximises our capability at draft over two years.

“We are pleased to have a range of picks in the second round and we have been able to bank an additional pick in the first round next year.”

The Lions have until Friday 22 November to enter into further pick swaps.
