The Lions however confirm emerging utility Zane Zakostelsky has ruptured his ACL during Saturday’s VFL win over the Gold Coast Suns.
The 20-year-old is expected to undergo surgery this week and begin his recovery.
Brisbane Lions General Manager Football, Danny Daly said the club was right behind the young utility.
“It’s very disappointing for Zane to have ruptured his ACL, especially given he had really taken the next step with his football in 2026,” Daly said.
“Everyone at the club will obviously wrap their arms around him and support him during his rehab and hope to see him back soon.”
Co-Captain Hugh McCluggage trained on Tuesday as part of his preparation ahead of a return for the Lions first final.
