The versatile Lion, who has become an important part of Brisbane’s AFLW program, will continue her career at Brighton Homes Arena.
The 58-game premiership Lion said she was thrilled to extend her time in Brisbane and remain part of a group she believes can continue to contend.
“I’m really excited to be staying at the Lions for another year,” Postlethwaite said.
“This Club means a lot to me, and I feel very grateful for the support I’ve had from my teammates, coaches and staff throughout my time here.
“We have a really driven group and I’m looking forward to continuing to contribute wherever the team needs me. I love pulling on the Lions jumper and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”
Brisbane Lions AFLW senior coach Craig Starcevich welcomed Postlethwaite’s extension, praising her team-first approach and resilience from overcoming her two ACL reconstructions.
“Lily is a terrific person to have around our program, she has shown incredible resilience to come back from significant injuries, and continues to lead the way with her high football IQ." Starcevich said.
“Her ability to play a number of roles, her competitiveness and her commitment to the group makes her a really valuable part of our team.
“She has already shown she can perform on the big stage and we’re looking forward to seeing her continue to develop and help drive our standards across the coming season.”
Hailing from Maroochydore in the QAFLW, Postlethwaite was drafted by Brisbane with Pick 3 in the 2019 AFLW Draft and was part of the Lions’ 2023 AFLW premiership side.
