Brisbane Lions key forward Eric Hipwood has achieved a major milestone, with the big man kicking his 100th AFL goal.

Hipwood, in just his fourth AFL season, slotted his 100th major against Melbourne in round 15. This milestone was quickly followed by 3 more goals, taking his total to 103. At just 21 he is the 19th highest Brisbane Lions goal kicker.

Hipwood could pass a host of club greats this season including Daniel Rich (105) and Chris Johnson (105) on the goal kicking tally, before coming up to triple-premiership players Nigel Lappin (134) and Justin Leppitsch (136).

To put his goal tally in perspective among the top three goal-kicking Lions, Jonathan Brown and Alastair Lynch didn’t kick their 100th goal until their fifth season, while Daniel Bradshaw did it during his fourth, when he reached the mark by kicking 56 goals during the 2000 AFL season.
