Twin towers Jonathan Brown and Brendan Fevola again starred for the Lions, kicking five and three goals respectively and having seven score assists between them.
“We continually talk about how we're not all about two blokes," Voss said after the game. "They certainly draw a crowd, but if they can bring other players into the game, then we become stronger as a group."
The Lions stay unbeaten after three rounds with the first away win of their campaign - their first two victories having come at the Gabba against West Coast and Carlton.
“This is big for us, this is a really big effort," Voss said. "To come away from AAMI Stadium and have a win away from home breeds an enormous amount of confidence, not only in the players but the faith in our structures and in what we're trying to achieve.
"It's certainly team building stuff when you can get away and have a win like that.”
Veteran midfielder Simon Black struggled with ongoing calf tightness throughout the contest and spent the entire second half on the bench.
"He was tight coming in, and he had a little run around this morning and was deemed to be okay," Voss said. "He’s just tightened up, there’s no tear or anything like that."
The result was in stark contrast to the corresponding encounter in round 14 last year, when Port Adelaide won by 48 points.
When asked if that demoralising loss was used as motivation, Voss replied: “Sometimes you don’t have to mention it, because the scars are already there.”
