GWS Giants forward Jeremy Cameron has been suspended for five weeks for his hit on Harris Andrews during the first quarter of Saturday's match between the Lions and Giants at the Gabba.

The Tribunal has found Jeremy Cameron guilty of intentionally striking Harris Andrews and will miss the next five rounds as penalty.

Cameron was referred directly to the Tribunal after the incident was classified as intentional conduct, severe impact and high contact.

As was announced yesterday, Cameron's hit on Andrews caused a severe concussion and a small bleed on his brain.

Andrews was admitted to hospital following the game but has now returned home.

Throughout this time the Lions Medical Staff have been in constant consultation with a neurosurgeon, who will reassess Andrews in two weeks’ time.

The Club will follow standard protocols around concussion this week and will regularly monitor Andrews’ condition.
