  • Tall utility who can play in the forward, backline or wing
  • Played for Glenelg in the SANFLW
  • Named on the interchange bench in the 2019 SANFLW Team of the Year

The Lions have selected Lucy Bellinger with Pick No.20 at today’s NAB AFLW Draft in Melbourne.

The 25-year old comes to the Den via South Australia where she played for Glenelg in the SANFLW and Morphettville Park in the Adelaide Football League’s National 1 Plumbing Division 1 competition.

Bellinger is versatile across the field, able to play at either half forward, wing or half back. She was named on the interchange bench in the 2019 SANFLW Team of the Year.

Coach Craig Starcevich said the Club were excited to welcome another interstate player, alongside Rheanne Lugg, Lauren Arnell and Jess Wuetschner.

“Lucy’s endurance and height allow her to play in a number of positions across the field,” Starcevich said.

“She is a medium/tall utility who can play as a tall forward, tall defender or tall winger.

“She can take a strong clean mark and we are impressed with her ball use.”
