On a Match Day at the Gabba there is a very special part of the stadium, it boasts the best seats in the house, and is custom designed and catered for the most special of VIPs - It's called Hyundai Help For Kids iView, located in Section 5.

At each of our home games children from Hyundai Help for Kids family tree of beneficiaries are invited to enjoy a day out with their families and create warm memories, when they are otherwise going through difficult times.

The ongoing feedback from guests inspires us to make their experience one they'll always cherish. The Lynch family recently wrote to us to say:

"Thank you for making an experience like this possible. You may never know how much your kindness has touched our family after the crazy year we have been through, but it was profound."

And the Wood Family:

"It meant so much to the boys after a year of hospital stays and surgeries and put a much needed smile back on their faces. The girls, that were working that day were absolutely wonderful and we couldn’t praise them highly enough. Please pass on our thanks to all involved as it means a lot."

At each of the games we crafted bespoke experiences, that particularly catered for the guests based on age and their likes.  This year we have hosted everything from high tea through to a pirate party! We focus on every little detail, from the decorations, props, costumes and even the food that O’Brien’s’ Catering provide, all created to reflect that round’s theme. Roy our mascot and non-playing players make visits to the room and engage with the families throughout the match and bring well received smiles to the kids’ faces.

Gabba Usher, Ann, of Section 5, says "I’ve had the privilege of observing the marvellous experience for the families and how many of the parents comment on how great the day has been and how it is possibly the best experience they have had in difficult times and also how the siblings are treated equally."

We proudly look back on the past 2016 season where we hosted special guests from Hyundai Help for Kids family of partners and beyond including:  Assistance Dogs Australia, Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation (ACCF),Children's Hospital Foundation, Darling Point Special School, John Maclean Foundation, Life Education Australia,Make-A-Wish Australia, Mater Foundation, Red kite, Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia and Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children.

The Brisbane Lions and Hyundai Help for Kids would like to thank everyone involved in making this special place possible.
