Lauren Arnell joined Dom Fay on the first edition of The Roar Deal for 2020. The midfielder is about to embark on her fourth AFLW season this weekend, when the Lions take on Adelaide in Round 1 at Hickey Park.

“I can say hand on heart that it’s the best I’ve felt in the group in AFLW and the most comfortable,” Arnell said.

Arnell said the team have prepare well for their first test against the Crows, the competition’s reigning premiers.

“We’ve got such a young group….and I think that unknown excitement is how we’re feeling at the moment,” she said.

The Crows could be missing some of their best players - Chelsea Randall will miss the entire 2020 season due to a knee injury and Erin Phillips is likely to also be out.

But Arnell warned the Crows’ depth could make them as potent as ever, even without their Co-Captains.

“We know that Adelaide are such a well-coached team and a really strong and deep squad,” Arnell said.

“We’re going to embrace the challenge.”
