Gabby Collingwood will miss the remainder of the 2020 season after scans revealed she ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) on her left knee while playing for the Yeronga Devils in the QAFLW two weeks ago.

Collingwood had played two AFLW games for the Lions so far this season.

Lions Women’s CEO Breeanna Brock said the entire team were devastated for the 21-year-old.

“In her third year at the Lions Gabby was playing some of her best footy, she had worked really hard in the off season so we are so disappointed we won’t see her take to the field again this season,” Brock said.

“We will be with her on every step of her recovery.”
