A collection of Queensland-based junior members had the opportunity to showcase their skills alongside their Lions heroes at the Gabba last month as part of the annual junior members’ clinic.

Fresh from their heroics against Geelong just three days earlier, Simon Black and Ash McGrath headlined the event, which was also attended by reigning Club Champion Joel Patfull, Daniel Rich, Pearce Hanley, Nick Hayes, Jordon Bourke, Matthew Leuenberger, Marco Paparone, James Polkinghorne, Elliot Yeo, and Billy Longer.

The players spent time teaching the Club’s junior members the finer arts of football, and also got their hands dirty as part of the fun activities.

Once the official drills had finished, there was a chance for the young Lions fans to get autographs and photos with their favourite players, and re-fuel with a post-clinic snack courtesy of Four ‘N Twenty.

‘King of the kids’ Bernie Gabba Vegas also made an appearance.

The Brisbane Lions would like to thank all junior members, and their parents, who took part in the popular event.

The Club’s Victorian-based junior members will get their opportunity to mix with some of the Lions players on Sunday 11 August – the morning after the Round 20 match against Richmond at the MCG – at the annual Victorian junior clinic.

All Victorian junior members should have already received an invitation to this event via email.
