Moloney's number's up
Lions recruit Brent Moloney will wear Michael Voss' old number 3 guernsey when he runs out for his new Club next season
Moloney will don the number three in 2013 after previous wearer Sam Sheldon was delisted by the club.
On arriving at the Lions last month, the 28-year-old said talking with Voss was a huge reason why he had moved north and he admitted to being a fan his entire career.
Now Moloney will wear the number Voss wore for 283 of his 289 matches for the Lions, including three premierships as captain.
The former Demons midfielder was among the most impressive at the Lions' first pre-season training session on Monday, finishing at the front end of the 2km time trial.
Fellow Melbourne recruit Stefan Martin will wear number 12 following the delisting of James Hawksley.
The other number change in the Lions' ranks for next season comes with exciting winger/half forward Rohan Bewick.
Bewick will switch from 43 to number eight - the same worn by his uncle Darren, who played in 238 games and two premierships for Essendon from 1988-2000.
Bewick had a strong season for the Lions, kicking 18 goals in 16 games and proving to be a valuable asset in the forward half.
Eighteen of the Lions squad - including Moloney and Martin - are heading to Arizona on Wednesday morning to undertake a two-week altitude training camp.
