Courageous Brisbane Lions Captain Jonathan Brown says he expects his teammates to continue to build on the same spirit shown in Round One when they face the Bulldogs on Sunday.

Brown, who was back at the Club on Friday for the first time since injuring himself in the Lions' heartbreaking season opening loss to Fremantle, predicted a bumper performance from the side.

"They'll go really well," Brown said.

"They've built up a tremendous spirit over the last three or four weeks."

"They were really unlucky to lose the game on the weekend and the spirit they showed, so I'm told, over the last quarter was outstanding and we wouldn't expect anything less."

"The Club, we copped our knocks this week with the injuries, and then a lot of people have jumped off us. But the players have got a real lot of pride in their performance and will put up another good show."

Brown is set to be sidelined for two months after suffering multiple facial fractures in a contest last weekend.

He said he would be relying on a blender to keep his weight up over the next eight weeks.

"I'm allowed to chew but you'd be surprised how much you can actually swallow and what you can put in to a blender," Brown said.

"I'll have to start to get a bit original with the menu."

Brown said he would now turn his focus to his recovery and dismissed any suggestion the injury would affect his playing style.

"I think when a player loses confidence they quite often associate it with the incident itself and whether they put themselves in harms way," Brown said.

"The incident on the weekend wasn't like it was a courageous act, I was just falling over taking a mark so I haven't got any mental demons in terms of putting myself in a reckless situation."
