On Saturday March 27 millions of people around the world will be switching off their lights to support Earth Hour.

So whether you’re coming to see the Lions take on the West Coast Eagles at the Gabba, or you’re staying in to watch the game at home, make sure you switch off your lights and unnecessary appliances at the wall at your place.

If you're coming to the game, make sure everything is switched off at home before walking out the door, and please take the free public transport included with your match ticket or Lions membership card.

By switching off your lights for one hour, you’ll be joining millions of people around the world in a global effort to reduce our impact on the environment.

Earth Hour 2010 is about more than switching off the lights and energy usage. This year we want you to go beyond turning off the lights and instead make a resolution to start something bigger.

Switching off the lights is a great first step but your true environmental impact is much bigger than your energy bill.

Measure your complete footprint by using the online calculator at www.earthhour.org.au, and then make a resolution to reduce it.

The Brisbane Lions are proud to support Earth Hour on Saturday March 27.
