James Polkinghorne was one of the shining lights for the Lions last Saturday night in an otherwise disappointing loss to Geelong.

The 21 year-old collected a career-high 29 disposals, took three marks and laid four tackles in the 81-point defeat to earn a total of 93 Dream Team points.

It was Polkinghorne’s highest ever Dream Team total in his three year career and was just two points shy of the Lions’ best score for the round.

Defender Matt Maguire was the team’s top scorer with 95 points on his return match from a one week suspension.

Maguire continues to prove a Dream Team bargain and is now the highest ranked Lions defender.

The overall Club leader has changed for the fourth consecutive week with Captain Jonathan Brown reclaiming his spot at number one from midfielder Michael Rischitelli.

However, there were no such lead changes in the Lions’ private Dream Team competition.

Sam Bishop’s team (The Dream Team) stays on top for the third week in a row, although is just three points clear of ‘Cloke’n’mirrors' who have been improving steadily over the season.

Stephen Linton’s ‘TruthOrConsequence’ was the highest scoring team for Round 8 with 2,368 which has also catapulted him into outright third position.

Jed Adcock remains the best of the Lions players’ teams, although his team ‘Jed’s Juggernaut’ has slipped 13 places to 203rd.

Registered Dream Teamers must remember to check their teams prior to the Round 9 lockout at 7:30pm this Friday night.
