Brisbane Lions Captain Jonathan Brown will require surgery for multiple facial fractures sustained during the third quarter of last night’s match against Fremantle.
Brown will undergo surgery early this week and further updates relating to his health and potential return dates for training and playing will be made available at that point.
Brown will remain in hospital until provided a medical clearance from his doctors.
In other injury updates, Brent Staker will have scans tomorrow on his right knee, after he was also injured during last night’s match.
The results of those scans will be released when they are made available to the Club.
And Mitch Clark (head) and Claye Beams (hip) have been cleared of any serious injury.
Clark, who was dazed during a contest in the fourth quarter, was cleared to return to the game by highly-respected Club doctor, Dr Paul McConnell, following a standard concussion test that Clark passed.
