The Brisbane Lions have made three changes to the side for tomorrow night’s QClash against Gold Coast at the Gabba.

Lincoln McCarthy, Archie Smith and Jack Payne all return for the 19th derby between the two Queensland clubs.

Lions coach Chris Fagan was forced to replace Harris Andrews and Tom Fullarton who both suffered injuries in the eight-point victory over Collingwood on Friday night.

Veteran Grant Birchall will have a pre-arranged rest due to the condensed nature of the fixtures between rounds 15-17.

Lions’ academy product Payne returns for his second AFL game having made his debut against Richmond in round 10.

He will replace vice-captain Andrews who is expected to miss between five and six weeks with a hamstring injury.

Ruckman Smith also returns after regaining fitness in the past two reserves match following an ankle injury suffered against Melbourne in round eight.

McCarthy comes straight back into the side after serving a one match suspension.
