Joe Daniher - 3

Boom recruit Joe Daniher has inherited the most famous guernsey number in Brisbane Lions’ history.

Daniher will make his debut in the number 3, previously worn by triple premiership captain Michael Voss.

Voss wore the number for 283 games across a stellar career that also included the 1996 Brownlow medal.

Gary Pert and his father Brian both wore the number for Fitzroy.

The former Bomber inherited the number from the retired Allen Christensen who wore it in 68 games for the Lions.

Nakia Cockatoo – 12

If Nakia Cockatoo can produce half the excitement a previous number 12 generated, Lions fans are in for some fun times.

The former Cat will don the No 12 that Jason Akermanis wowed Lions fans in for 210 games during his heyday at the Club. 

Akermanis won a Brownlow and three premierships while wearing the number. He shares the games record in the number with another club great, Fitzroy’s Michael Conlon.

The most recent custodian was former Merrett-Murray medallist Stefan Martin who wore the number with distinction in 133 games for the Club.

Henry Smith – 19

Henry Smith has become the latest Lions’ ruckman to don the number 19.

The Club’s third pick in the 2020 draft will wear the number made famous by premiership ruckman Jamie Charman in 129 games.

The number was also worn by former Club champion Michael Magic McLean.

 Jacob Allison was the last Lion to wear the guernsey.

 Jaxon Prior - 20

West Australians with precision left boots are a part of the fabric of the Brisbane Lions and Jaxon Prior has elected for a swap to claim a number made famous by one of the all-time greats.

The second year midfielder-half back will now wear number 20 once owned by triple premiership hero and Club games record holder Simon Black.

Black wore the number in all of his 322 games for the Club in a 16-year career in which he won the 2002 Brownlow medal and the 2003 Norm Smith medal.

Cedric Cox wore the No.20 guernsey for the past four years.

Tom Fullarton – 21

Tom Fullarton has claimed the guernsey number once worn by another Queensland big man.

The ruck-forward has switched to the number 21, worn in 200 games for the Club by Daniel Merrett.

Harry Sharp - 22 

Running machine Harry Sharp will don the number 22 guernsey in 2021.

The draftee inherited the number from Mitch Hinge who left the Club at the end of last season.

Chris Scott holds the games record in the number having worn it in 215 games for the Lions, including the 2001-02 premierships.

Lions assistant coach Ben Hudson also previously wore the number for the Club.

Blake Coleman – 34

Blake Coleman has selected guernsey number 34.

The games record in 34 is held by Grant Lawrie who played 107 games for Fitzroy.

The Brisbane Lions record is held by 2002 premiership player Aaron Shattock who wore the number 57 times for the Club.

Carter Michael – 39

Carter Michael has selected the number once worn by another Sunshine Coaster.

Josh Drummond holds the record of 94 games in guernsey number 39.

Flamboyant Brisbane Bear Warwick Capper also the number 34 times. 

Deividas Uosis – 41

The Club’s first Lithuanian born player Deividas Uosis will wear guernsey number 41.

The guernsey was worn with distinction by Queenslander Matthew Kennedy in 188 games for the Club.

He inherits the number from Matt Eagles.
