The Brisbane Lions will wear our 2021 Deadly Choices shirt during Captain's run today ahead of Sir Doug Nicholls Round.

Our players want to use this opportunity to raise the importance of Indigenous health amongst their peers and the broader Lions community.

This year's shirt is modelled on the 2020 Lions Indigenous guernsey designed by Allen Christensen. Anyone undertaking a 715 health Check is eligible to receive a DC shirt of their choice.

Deadly Choices aim to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to make healthy choices for themselves and their families – to stop smoking, to eat good food and exercise daily.

Deadly Choices encourages their people to access their local Community Controlled Health Service and complete an annual ‘Health Check’. Programs include Tobacco cessation programs, Community events, Sport and recreation, Education programs, Cooking programs, and Leadership camps

The Clubs partnerships with Deadly Choices has run for a number of years. Our Indigenous male and female players are active DC Ambassadors, taking part in a range of activities including ambassador days, podcasts, radio interviews and video content.

This provides opportunity for our players to play an important advocacy role in the Indigenous community and provide leadership and encouragement to live making healthy choices.
