Recruited from the Lions Academy, Eric Hipwood made his debut for the Lions in Round 13, 2016. The 203cm key forward finished eighth overall in total marks inside 50 for 2019, averaging a career-high 4.7 marks per game and kicking 35 goals, including a career-best six-goal-haul against Port Adelaide in Round 3. Capping off an impressive 2019 year, Hipwood polled six votes in the Brownlow Medal count, along with being selected in the AFLPA’s 22under22 team, his third straight selection.
